When life offers us a little magic...

Life is something special and fascinating. We may know what it is, but it is still wonderful and magical.

An unforgettable birth

For the first time in my life, I have experienced an incredible birth, full of love, kindness and empathy. These words, which are often associated with human behavior, best represent what I was fortunate enough to witness on the evening of July 18, 2021.

For a few days, I was watching and waiting for the birth of my sweet Romy's babies. It is in the evening of this Sunday that she decided to give life for my biggest happiness.
It's never easy the first few times, both for my girls and for me. I explained in a previous article the misfortune that we had experienced with Nala. Each birth is a moment of anxiety, everything can quickly change.

Romy, despite having six babies, was well into her 70 day gestation period. As a safety measure, we went back to our veterinarian the day before to make sure that the little hearts were beating and that there were no physiological problems. For this control, Rose, Romy's aunt, also pregnant with one baby, came with us to reduce the stress of the trip. In the end it was Rose who was the most anxious so Romy licked and reassured her until we got home. I assure you that it is very touching to see them so close and caring with each other. The check-up didn't reveal anything abnormal and after seeing some nice heartbeats, my anxiety subsided a bit.

It was finally on Sunday evening that Romy went into labor. A delivery, just like a birth at home, is not done without pain and fear. When the first contractions came, Romy was very anxious and agitated, she couldn't hold still and meowed a lot... And that's when the magic started...

Rose came in and snuggled up to Romy and licked her as much as she could. She never left her side, she lived the contractions with her and Romy really leaned on Rose, both physically and psychologically. It's impossible to stay still in front of so much empathy and benevolence, it was impossible to hold back my tears at that moment, tears of joy for all that was happening in front of my eyes.

When the first baby appeared at 9 pm, Rose took care of it, between two licks to Romy, she cleaned and dried this little being which was not of her. She even cleaned Romy, a real little "midwife" to make in anthropomorphism...

The rest was almost easy and Romy calmed down, I had the impression that she let herself be guided and that she felt really well with Rose at her side. I didn't have to intervene except for the little third one who wasn't breathing, but with a few gentle but firm manipulations this little angel came back among us. Rose and Romy, both primiparous, (that is to say that they had never been mothers before) took care of everything, opening the pockets, cutting the cords... In short I took advantage of this moment without being intrusive.

United for better... And for life!

When Romy started to push for the sixth and last baby, when I was already feeling less overwhelmed by emotion and my heart was returning to normal speed, I saw Rose turn around, look at me and start to push...

I didn't believe in it, it wasn't possible, my two daughters, so close, fusional and solidary, decided to give life at the same time, stuck to each other...
Time stopped, my breathing too... I can't explain what you can feel at this moment, it's unique and yes I say it, it's magic.

It was at 22H42 exactly that Romy gave birth to her sixth baby and it was at 22H45 that Rose gave birth to her one and only little love.

The rest is just as beautiful. The happy little Brits each have 2 moms at heart, the girls share the same bedtime and love each baby the same. They don't make any difference, they are incredible moms, I feel like they have been doing this all their lives. The way they look at their babies, with so much love and pride is beautiful to see.

Seven little hearts have shown up, everything is going well for now but three kittens are having a little trouble gaining weight. I will keep a close eye on them and hope that everything will be fine in the next few days.

I was lucky enough to be able to immortalize this unique moment because everything went well. I share it with you and let you appreciate and see the love that unites these two young mothers.
